100mm x 100mm plates 

With a new and large investment, Noliac Ceramics is now capable of manufacturing large piezoelectric plates up to 100mm x 100mm in thickness range 1mm to 20mm, depending on ceramics used. For medical ultrasound and underwater acoustic systems this new capability is very good news! 

Medical ultrasound applications 

The large bulk plates up to 100mm x 100mm are excellent for e.g. medical transducers for ultrasound applications. Depending on the ceramic material used, the thickness range is from 1mm to 20mm granting the customer the possibility of determining the height according to application. 

Ultrasound transducers demand piezoceramic materials with very high permittivity, high coupling coefficients, low Qm factor and relatively high Curie temperature. NCE55 provides it all and is therefore the supreme piezo material for the manufacturing of ultrasound transducers.

Underwater acoustic systems

The large bulk plates are also excellent for ultrasound transducers in e.g. underwater acoustic systems. Piezo transducers transmit and receive waves in sonars for sensing and operate typically at their resonant frequency with various construction options, beam patterns and power levels.
