Being a partner in the Masmicro project, Noliac invites you to disseminate the results and achievements of the project to date. Participate and be up-front with the development of manufacturing micro products.

With a total budget of €21.5 million, the four year Masmicro project will develop an integrated production facility for mass-manufacture of miniature and micro-products.

Launched in July 2004, Masmicro is an integrated project supported by the European Commission under Framework Programme 6 (FP6). Coordinated by the University of Strathclyde, the consortium gathers 36 partners from 13 EU countries.

The Masmicro demonstration day will be held on October 4th 2006 at the Universität Stuttgart, Germany, and participation is free of charge.

Supplying knowledge & conceptual models

- Our primary role in the project is to supply knowledge and put down conceptual models for vibrating the forming tool, CEO & Founder Bjørn Andersen explains. - Further, we develop new piezoelectric products for micro machinery applications.

To date, manufacture of miniature and micro-products still largely relies on the techniques based on the removal of the materials, either by chemical or mechanical means. The objective of the Masmicro project is to convert miniature and micro-materials into engineering products by high rate plastic deformations.

- This type of technology will greatly reduce costs and equipment size for the manufacture of miniature and micro-components for many sectors, Bjørn concludes.
