Introducing new actuator technology in Bremen

Noliac participates actively in the Actuator 2012 exhibition and conference in Bremen, Germany, on June 18-20. With two presentations, one poster, two commercial presentations and an exhibition stand, Noliac looks forward to introducing new actuator technology and learning from participants, visitors and conference presentations.

Two presentations on dielectric electro-drive polymer actuators

Low voltage dielectric electro-active polymer actuator will be presented by Noliac R&D Engineer Charles Mangeot on Monday June 18 at 12:00 (C1.4).

Further, integrated high voltage power supply utilizing burst mode control and its performance impact on dielectric electro active polymer actuators will be presented by R&D Engineer Anders R. Steenstrup with other Noliac engineers and cooperation partners.

The latter presentation will take place on Tuesday June 19 at 11:50 (B3.5).

Poster session - output control down to zero speed

Improved dynamics, resolution and repeatability of a linear positioning system through the use of piezo actuator drive (PAD) will be presented at a poster session (P44).

A new design of the PAD demonstrates very good dynamics. The system reaches its target speed within milliseconds, so start/stop times can be minimised. Furthermore, lower inertia and low friction induce a widened controllable speed. This means that the output can be controlled down to virtually zero speed, allowing a continuous adjustment of its position.

As a result, performance and usage of the positioning system can be improved, leading to quality improvements and cost savings.

Exhibition - D-04

Meet some of our sales engineers and R&D engineers at exhibition booth D-04. Sales Manager Cedric Goueffon will amongst others be present. Please contact him for prior engagements.

R&D Manager Jean Bruland will also be present and make a commercial presentation on HIghPERformance Piezo Actuators (HIPERAct) – A FP7 funded project for development of novel ceramic materials with high crack/humidity resistance and low cost large actuator through InterDigitated Electrode technology (IDE).
