Noliac at innovation days in Portugal

Research and Development Manager Jean Bruland of Noliac Motion attends the international business fair Innovation Days in Portugal on June 18th to 20th presenting the Eurostars' project Smart Embedded Sensor System.

Innovation Days aims to promote the results of successful market-oriented R&D projects, boosting their economic exploitation and promoting new partnerships between companies, researchers and investors.

Smart Embedded Sensor System

The Smart Embedded Sensor System (SESS) is a market-oriented research project funded through the EUROSTARS Programme, which aims to develop a structural health monitoring solution for wind turbine blades.

The project result will be a device consisting of an array of piezoelectric transducers embedded on the wind turbine blade which will detect and localize flaws and/or potential damage using both an active and a passive approach. The target SESS capability can be summarized as: early detection of critical damage.
