Rosen transformers

Rosen transformers are low-power piezoelectric transformers.

The modern multilayer Rosen type transformer is an excellent high voltage, low power transformer, having a very low profile and easily placed next to e.g. a computer screen. 
 

Benefits involve:

• High efficiency (90-97%)
• Little ElectroMagnetic Inteference (EMI)
• Very high and variable transformation ratios possible
• Working frequency of approximately 100kHz

Note:

To gain the maximum efficiency and proper voltage transformation of piezo transformers, it is required that the frequency of operation is kept on the resonance of the piezo transformer.
As the resonance frequency can shift depending on electrical load as well as temperature differences, a driving circuit is required to ensure that optimum driving conditions are maintained at all times.
