Your choice of piezo material composition
At the customer’s outmost satisfaction, Noliac Ceramics has executed the request of material compositions and maximum accuracy of dimensions of a tube component. Noliac is capable of fulfilling your needs regarding specific piezo material compositions and very low tolerances of the final component’s dimensions.
Trials and tests
Research & Development Engineer Jan Kühn explains:
- Many trials were done first by our R&D department to reach optimal production conditions. All compositions were made in our R&D laboratory including weighing, mixing, milling, crusting, calcination, measuring etc. Every type of material needs different sintering temperature and firing conditions.
- All these types were prepared from powders via isostatic pressing and firing at the right sintering temperature, and the result was excellent.
Four compositions and good results
For this single customer, Noliac Ceramics tested four different piezoceramic compositions:
- Special barium-strontium titanate – PERMITIT 55
- Special barium-strontium titanate – PERMITIT 64
- PZT type – PCM51
- Special PZT type – “Pb-rich”
In the end, the customer could choose from two piezo tubes, type A and B.

Jan Kühn adds up:
- Now, we are able to make these tubes upon customer request. We are also able to develop tubes or other shapes from other compositions. It depends on “what you need”.
