Sonars for underwater communication
How it works
All sonar-based systems use a transducer to generate a sound waves or pulses (bundles) of waves. Special kinds of signal modulation is applied to obtain high reliability of the signal. This enables data transfer at long distances together with acceptable power consumption in a high-pressure environment.
Which piezo elements can be used for sonars for underwater communication?
Transducers for underwater communication devices are usually fitted with piezo components of various shapes manufactured of soft piezoelectric materials (NCE51, NCE53). However, for high power applications the electrically hard materials (NCE80, NCE40, NCE41) should also be considered. Sizes depend on the application. The multilayer piezoelectric element used as a transmitter could significantly reduce the level of driving voltage.
