Adjusted stroke level of NAC actuators
Adjusted stroke level for the NAC actuators
Due to process improvements accomplished since 2012, the specifications online need to be adjusted to reflect the actual stroke level. The adjustment is an increase of approximately 10%, and it has been implemented online as of January 1, 2016. Jean Bruland, Quality Manager at Noliac, explains:
- It is important for Noliac to emphasize, that the NAC actuators sold yesterday have the same specifications as the NAC actuators we will sell after January 1, 2016. The improvements of the production processes have been performed continuously since 2012, where we introduced the piezoceramic materials NCE51 and NCE51F as materials for our standard NAC actuators. Since then, we have monitored the performance of the produced batches. We have also analysed and evaluated the production data on a regular basis and compared the results with the current specifications online. Based on the last evaluations, the average stroke level is now approximately 10% higher than found in the specifications online. In order for the specifications to reflect the actual stroke level, we will therefore adjust the specifications online with an increase of the stroke value of approximately 10% as of January 1, 2016.

Useful in many applications
The benefits of a high stroke level can be used in applications in many different industries. Both the single and the stacked versions of plate actuators are for instance widely used in applications for nano and micro positioning. Applications for aerospace and space are other examples, where the NAC actuators are used.
