High stability at high temperatures
Amplified actuators are very often unstable in temperature due to the differential thermal expansion between the piezoelectric element and the amplification frame. Due to a built-in differential configuration, the Noliac amplified actuator is temperature stable. Raimundas Lucinskis, R&D engineer at Noliac, explains the high temperature stability of the new amplified actuator:
- We have significantly improved the temperature range, where the new models of the amplified actuators perform at a stable level up to 110 °C. We have achieved this by constructing the outer shell of titanium alloy that provides a relatively low thermal expansion coefficient. Combined with the other materials within the actuator, this change allows for a very homogeneous performance of the actuator over a wide temperature range. This improvement makes the amplified actuator suitable for an even wider range of applications.
High stroke and frequency, compact design and low weight
The amplified actuator is more compact and robust than many commercially available amplification systems of comparable performance. The unique design is also both smaller and lighter than competing amplified actuators. The amplified actuator from Noliac can be used for applications in systems requiring large controllable displacements together with high forces and minimal weight.
Three standard sizes and customized solutions
The new design is introduced with a range of three standard models, which allows for easy integration into a wide spectrum of applications. Cedric Goueffon, Global Sales Manager at Noliac, explains:
- Introducing the new model with three standard sizes makes it much easier for our customers to find the right solution to a specific application. If a customer requires a different size or performance, we can always custom design a solution to match specific requirements.
