Extreme environment
PAD can be customized in terms of temperature range, magnetic field, vacuum, radiation etc. The motor can be adapted to extreme environments such as for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), particle accelerators or nuclear research applications.
We have tested specific PAD designs up to 150°C with only minor effect on torque (<15%). Thanks to the form-fit principle, speed and position can be controlled in open-loop regardless of temperature.
Through a careful selection of the materials, PAD designs can be completely non-magnetic. Specific motors have been tested in 3T MRI without interfering with the measurement and without being affected by the magnetic field.
